Off the needles: Offset shell stitch baby blanket

First in the ever-shrinking list of projects that I started months ago and never got around to finishing. It feels so good to have it photographed and on its way to my new little cousin!

Offset shell stitch baby blanket

Started: March 2014

Finished: September 26, 2014

Fiber: Fantasy Naturale, Aran weight 100% cotton

Notes: This is one of the first crochet projects that I didn't follow exactly according to the pattern, just kind of improvised based off of the stitch, which was exciting! I based the pattern off of this pattern by Lisa Gutierrez and started it way too big, then started over. I sent it off without the final measurements (doh), but it was definitely a large baby blanket, more like lap size. Total it took about 4 skeins, plus one for the border, which was two rows of single crochet followed by the crab stitch to finish the border.

started this blanket before we knew what the sex of the baby was, but I actually just love the classic look of white in this. Wonderful.
